DAMP PROOF COURSE
Here we have an example of poor DPC. The DPC should be about 150mm above ground (or at least 2 brick courses). The the above example you will see the pavement is too high. In some instances the entire property may have been built incorrectly from the get go, but often its just down to contractors not digging deep enough when installing your new driveway or patio. The whole idea of DPC is to keep rising damp to a minimum, but when it is too close to ground level it has increased exposure to water ingress.

Other symptoms include brick spalling and cement perishing. If you think your DPC needs attention please get in touch and I will advise.
